Imagineer Media Entrepreneur-ship (IME)

The key concept for this program is the development of graduates to capture the myriad of opportunities available in the Metaverse. Students would have four critical skills in their studies, which are management (business), communications, design, and technology.

Imagineer means bring the creative concepts developed in the mind into reality. This is easily facilitated in the world of the Metaverse, where animations and 3D creations can be used in actual interactions. It was only in October 2021 when Facebook changed its company name to Meta to signify its commitment to developing this new technology. Currently, Europe needs 30 – 40 thousand workforce to fuel development in the Metaverse.

IME is an innovative program that enables students to bring their imagination into career opportunities, which is aligned to the entrepreneurship in the name of program. Through the Media Incubator students bring their ideas to the table and the program would contact partners to put the ideas into actual business practice. This includes creating new career opportunities such as virtual event planning or even creation of virtual influencers. In addition, this program is true to the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts concept of Creative Connected Global Citizen. During the course of the studies, students would receive 2 certificates from leading global institutions. During the internship and after graduation students have the opportunity for placement abroad as well. As a result, upon graduation students can start a career anywhere in the world.

The program can be completed either in 3 years or 4 years. If students choose the 4-year program track, they can get another degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Communication Design. In the four-year track students can choose to study in the Graphics Design, Character Design, or Metaverse Narrative Space Design concentrations. In the Metaverse Narrative Design concentration, students would study with the Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design and receive a certificate from the school.

The IME program prepares students for a challenging future in the ever-growing field of communications with the world of the Metaverse.

IME CAREER OPPORT-UNITIES

IME CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to the traditional communication and design careers such as graphics designer, digital creative, digital analysts, digital planner, and digital content creator, IME provides more careers in the ever-expanding world of the Metaverse.

In addition to the staple of software engineers and game designers, the Metaverse future has more opportunities. As suggested by Tech Blogger Adrien Book, in the exciting future there are also many more exciting jobs.

Metaverse Planner manages strategic portfolio of opportunities from proof-of-concept to pilot to deployment. That means identifying market opportunities, building business cases, influencing engineering roadmaps, and developing key metrics. This requires the skills of Communication Arts, Business, and IT.

Metaverse Storyteller designs immersive quests for the users to explore the metaverse, training scenarios for the military, hard-to-spot marketing opportunities in the form of narratives for corporations. This requires the skills of Communication Arts, Design, and IT.

World Builder needs to be forward-thinking and facing, as much of what they will dream of won’t yet exist in the form of a technology or a product solution. This requires all four skills of Communication Arts, Design, Business, and IT.

In addition, students would join many activities such as creative workshops, technology demonstrations, and pitching opportunities.
