“AU Timeline design”: The grand exhibition for celebrating 50th Anniversary of Assumption University

Type         Information Design
Technic    Digital print on wall

On the auspicious occasion of Assumption University’s 50th Anniversary, the celebrating exhibition was held for welcoming H.M. Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana on December 7, 2019 at Assumption University Suvarnabhumi Campus. The history of Assumption University was narrated on the space on wall display with 26.3 m. height x 96.6 m. length on the 3rd floor of Assumption University Library whose team were those who collected and created the timeline displayed on the exhibition while the information timeline was designed by me. The details were divided into two major parts as follows;

Part 1: The Origin of Assumption University narrating the story about the founder, Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel

Part 2. Timeline of AU’s 50 Anniversary narrating about the timeline and important events occurred during the past 50 years

The objective of this design project was to develop the timeline design of Assumption University and make the exhibition more interesting and active for audience by information displayed in several choices of format i.e. linear story telling on straight line, up to down, or devious line on space. The selected format was the linear story telling on straight line as it was the easiest format to narrate the timeline in celebrating Assumption University’s 50th anniversary.

The concept of Assumption University’s 50th anniversary timeline was created to certify Assumption University as the first international university in Thailand under its philosophy “Labor, Omnia, Vincit”. The philosophy was recomposed in contemporary design, reflecting the long journey of the institute and its pride from the past until now.
